ERNESTINE MORGAN
Ernestine Morgan, age 86, of Raymore, Missouri passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 16, 2016 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri.
Ernestine Morgan was born July 20, 1930 in Monroe County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Amos Wilson "A.W" and Mary Belle (Bartley) McMillin.
On October 9, 1953, Ernestine was united in marriage with Marion O. Morgan and together they shared the blessing of two children, Terri Lynn and Michael Otto.
Ernestine received her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics and taught as an Extension Agent throughout Kentucky; she also owned a children's clothing store in Bardstown, Kentucky, called the 'Bo-Peep Shop' for many years until moving to Raytown in 1964.
Ernestine lovingly raised her children at home and later she worked at Benchmark Furniture as an interior designer. She called Raytown her home for over 50 years until she moved to Raymore after the death of her husband.
Ernestine remained an active member of and served in various leadership roles at the Raytown branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women), she was also a faithful member of Sterling Avenue Church of Christ, and more recently Raymore Church of Christ after moving to Raymore in 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents, "A.W"McMillin (July 18, 1950) and Mary Belle McMillin (April 28, 1980); her husband, Marion O. Morgan (May 25, 2012); her daughter, Terri Lynn Casey (March 13, 1994); siblings, Clone, Otis Wilson, William Paul, Robert Mitchell, Pearl Irene, Bertice Evelyn, Ione, Vessie Olene, and Richard.
She is survived by her son, Michael O. Morgan and his wife, Heather; her brothers, Roy McMillin and his wife, Zelma, and A.E. McMillin and his wife, Margie; her sister, Ova Hollingsworth; five grandchildren, Brock, Carrington, Drake, Adam and Sean; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will begin at 6:00 p.m., with visitation from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore, Missouri. Private Interment will be at Floral Hills Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Abundant Life Church Food Pantry, 304 SW Persels Rd., Lee's Summit, Missouri or Raymore Church of Christ 107 N Woodson Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083.
