ELLEN MARIE EARHART

Ellen M. Earhart, age 84, of Belton, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1111 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to St. Paul's United Methodist Church.

Ellen was born on September 4, 1934 in Troy, Kansas. She was the eldest daughter of Joe and Mary Howland. She graduated Troy high school in 1952. She married Harold Earhart in January 1953. They especially enjoyed dancing at the Frog Hop in St. Joe. They moved to Belton, Missouri in 1955. They raised four sons together. Ellen worked for the US Air Force and the US Marine Corp. She was a hard-working, caring, generous, loving mother. She was an excellent cook and left several cherished recipes.

Her favorite role was being a grandmother, as her four grandchildren can attest. Ellen loved big band music and might have been a singer if circumstances had been slightly different.

She was an active member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church until she was limited by health issues.

Ellen is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Mary Howland; sisters Jo Ann Howland and Mary Thomas; and brother Robert Howland.

She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Harold Earhart; sons Mike Earhart (Bobi), Tim Earhart (Jackie), Doug Earhart (Theresa), and Phil Earhart; grandchildren Hannah Dickerson (Tyler), AJ Earhart (Amanda), Kimberly Earhart, and Chad Earhart (Katie); and great grandchildren Nolan and Opal.
