EDWIN L. MORGAN
1929-2018

Edwin LeRoy Morgan, age 88, of Raymore, MO passed away January 30, 2018.

Ed was born October 13, 1929 in Boone County, Iowa, the second of two sons to Lewis W. and Ida E. (Daniels) Morgan. Raised on the family farm, he learned the values of hard work and responsibility. As a young man, he worked for the Milwaukee Railroad. In 1950, Edwin joined the Air Force, trained as a mechanic, and became a hydraulics specialist. He served in Korea and, upon return, was stationed in Olathe, KS for the remainder of his enlistment.

While deployed, having been introduced by a mutual friend, Ed began corresponding with Patricia (Pat) M. Musselman of Des Moines, IA. Eventually they met, dated, married, made a home, and raised a family. Together, as best friends and partners, they enjoyed over 64 years of marriage.

Following his active duty service, Ed continued to work for the Air Force as a Civil Service employee at Richards Gebaur AFB in Grandview, MO. He also joined the Air Force Reserves, and served in that capacity for the remainder of his career. He retired on his birthday in 1989, and enjoyed many years of retirement living. He and Pat adopted Sun City, AZ as their winter home, but always returned to Missouri to enjoy summer gardening in Raymore.

Ever the farm boy, Ed enjoyed tractor pulls, keeping a vegetable garden, and attending the state fair. He liked sports, especially football, and spent time reading and taking walks. He was handy around the house, and created many pieces of scroll-saw art to share with family.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Dean Morgan; and his son in-law, Tom Massia. He is survived by his loving wife, Pat; daughter Karla M. Massia; daughter in-law Sharon M. Davis; four grandsons, Curtis Morgan (Leah), Craig Morgan (Allison), Corey Morgan (Sonja), and Casey Morgan (Kerry); seven great-grandchildren: Matthew, Andrew, Lydia, Lily, Eli, Isla, Sarah, and two more on the way.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2018 at Cullen Funeral Home. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m.
