Ed was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 27, 1948 to William "Bill" H. Bollinger and Erma (Landuyt) Bollinger. He graduated high school in 1966 and was drafted in 1968 to the United States Army where he honorably served his country in Vietnam. Early in life, at 7 years old, Ed's strong work ethic was instilled in him as he would begin working with his family's construction business, Bollinger Construction, washing tools. He excelled throughout life in his working career and retired from Merit General Contractors in 2013. In the spring of 1970, Ed was united in marriage with his wife, Bobbie (Miller) Bollinger on March 14th and were later blessed with two daughters. In life, Ed was a man of many passions, interests, and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed time with his family, dancing with his wife, fine arts and entertainment, coaching youth sports, fishing, gardening, flowers, animals, golfing, hunting, going to the casinos, and cars. He was a great cook and loved to entertain and feed friends and family. He was a man you could count on, and he went above and beyond for others. You didn't have to be family to be affected by his kindness. Above all, his greatest role in life was being a husband, a dad, a grandpa (papa), a great grandpa (papa), uncle, and friend to all.
