EDNA M. NORTON
Edna M. Norton, 99, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at Foxwood Springs, Raymore, MO. At her request, an anatomical donation was made to the K.U. School of Medicine for medical research and teaching. A private memorial service for her family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Crossroads Hospice, 9237 Ward Parkway, Ste. 300, Kansas City, MO 64114 or the Fellowship of John, Foxwood Springs.
Edna was born May 27, 1911, in Kansas City, MO, to Wilhelmina and Jesse Murnan. After graduating from Central High School and Business College, she worked for Ash Grove Cement and TWA. She and her husband, William Joseph Norton, retired to Lake Worth, FL. After his death, Edna returned to the Kansas City area. She was a member of the Raymore Christian Church and an active resident of Foxwood Springs, volunteering in the library, Corner Store, and Fall Festival as well as serving as her parish leader and a member of the residents' advisory committee.
She is survived by her son William E. Norton of Kansas City, MO; her daughter Jean Myers of Raymore, MO; her son Donald M. Norton and his wife, Vickie, of Lee's Summit, MO; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
