EARL JOSEPH CLARK
Earl Joseph Clark, age 91, of Belton, Missouri, passed away surrounded by his loving wife at home on Monday, April 13, 2020.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Gospel Tabernacle, 811 S Cleveland Ave, Belton, Missouri 64012.
Born in Fort Scott, Kansas on August 30, 1928 Earl was the son of Samuel Joseph Clark and Margaret Mary Clark. After graduating high school Earl continued his education attending college in Fort Scott, Missouri and served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. For a number of years, Earl served as the Chaplin for the Cadmus Grange #350. After his discharge from the service, Earl served his apprenticeship at the Fort Scott Tribune and then was employed by the Kansas City Star newspaper as a Printer for twenty-five years and then as an Operating Engineer for twelve years. He retired after thirty-seven years of employment with the Star. Earl was a member of the American Legion Post #248 and also a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Belton, Missouri.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Margaret Clark; sister Darlene Clark Evans; and daughter, Linda Lee Clark.
He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Clark, of the home in Belton, Missouri; two daughters, Diane Clark Thompson and Karen Clark Ruppert; and two grandsons, Adam and Grant Ruppert.
