Obituary

DORTHY M. EUBANK

Dorthy M. Eubank, age 94, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully at Foxwood Springs on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

A private burial will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. A memorial service for Dorthy will be held on July 1, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Raymore Christian Church, 500 Peace Drive, Raymore, Missouri. Service will be available online via YouTube. On the day of the service simply search, "Raymore Christian Church." The service will also be posted on the church's Facebook page at a later time.

Dorthy was born in Hamburg, Iowa, on January 22, 1932, to Richard Minter Vest and Doris Emma (English) Vest. She graduated from high school in Overton, Nebraska, in 1949, earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 1965 and completed a master’s degree in education from Emporia State University in 1969.

She married Marion Teel in 1950, and the two divorced in 1968.

She is survived by her four children, Beth Elaine Philips (John Michael) and their three sons; Richard Carroll Teel (Sherry) and their two children; Barbara Ellen Seregi (Brian) and their two children; and Douglas Eugene Teel (Lisa) and their two children. She had nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, with another expected soon.

She spent 23 years single, focusing on her career and children and the many things she enjoyed in life: church, traveling, meeting people, crafts, square dancing and reading.

She married Charles Eubank in 1991 and retired as an elementary teacher from Shawnee Mission Public Schools in 1993 so they could travel! She loved becoming part of Charlie’s large, loving family, including his three children, Steve Eubank (Cindy) and their three children; Jeff Eubank (Barbara) and their son; and Vicky Eubank Flores (Bill) and their two children. On Charlie’s side, she had six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Donna Jean Taylor; her husbands, Marion (2020) and Charlie (2005); and by Vicky and Bill Flores.

Dorthy moved to Foxwood Springs in November 2009 and thrived on the many friendships she made with her fellow seniors in independent living and with Foxwood staff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Foxwood Springs Fellowship of John Foundation or Raymore Christian Church.

Arrangements: Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Missouri, 816-322-5278.
