Obituary

DOROTHY A. DELINE

Dorothy A. Deline, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and lifelong learner, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at the age of 94 in Raymore, Missouri.

Dorothy was born on October 7, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, to Silas Lynch and Hannah Lowlor. She was a proud graduate of Louisburg High School. Her life's journey led her to marry the love of her life, Jack Deline, on October 20, 1951. Their beautiful marriage was blessed with three children: Deborah, John, and Jim.

Dorothy (“Dotty”) was a woman of deep faith and community engagement. She was a devoted member of the South Haven Baptist Church, where she passionately volunteered for numerous activities. Her creative spirit shone through her love for sewing, quilting, and gardening. She will be remembered for her active and loving involvement in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Many family members considered her their “favorite Aunt.”

Throughout her accomplished career, Dorothy served as a clinical receptionist for seven years before dedicating the remainder of her working life as a systems analyst for the United States Marine Corps Finance Center. A true lifelong learner, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Avila College at the remarkable age of 65. Dorothy also volunteered through the community education program by helping adults prepare income taxes.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Silas Lynch and Hannah Lowlor, her brother Barry Lynch, her husband, Jack Deline, her brother George Lowlor, & her son John Deline.

She is survived by her two loving children, Deborah Deline and Jim Deline (Kimm); her sister, Julia Ann Weis; four cherished grandchildren: Jessica Brummett (Jen), Jaime Deline, Steven Deline (Cacey), and Jacqueline Hofer (Mikel); and eight adored great-grandchildren.
