DONALD DWAYNE KINCADE

Donald Kincade was born on January 19, 1937 on a farm near Spickard, Mo, to Alma and May Kincade. When he was 3 years old, his parents bought and moved to a farm in Mercer County where he graduated from Princeton High School, class of 1954. He worked for Montgomery Ward Catalog in Kansas City for one year before attending a Telegraphy School in Pueblo, Colorado. Before he finished this course of study he was offered a job with Santa Fe Railroad as an Agent/Telegrapher. His railroad work spanned a period of 15 years and also brought him back to Kansas City to work for the Katy Railroad as Chief Clerk.

He married Marilyn Jean Willis at Spickard Baptist Church on June 17, 1956. They made their home in Streator, Illinois. In 1966 they moved their family to a farm on Cleveland Road south of Belton, Mo. He loved to work with cattle and through this hobby; he met Dick and Bob Harmon, owners of RW Harmon & Sons, School Bus Company. Don was hired in 1970 to manage their school busses for the Belton School District. Later, he would also manage their contract with Raymore-Peculiar School District. In 1980 he was transferred to Stilwell, Kansas to manage the Blue Valley School bus contract. We worked there until 1994 when he was transferred to Harmon's Red Bridge facilities. He retired as Division Manager for Laidlaw Transportation in 1997. He won many awards for his service, among them a plaque for 27 years of care and dedication to the safety of children.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jean, and four children, Dwayne Kincade (Sue) Elk River, MN; Marianne Phillips (Kenny) Lee's Summit, MO, Marilyn Kitson (Jim) Kansas City, Mo and David Kincade, Sarasota, FL. He also leaves 2 sisters, Rose Lee Dragoo (Paul), Boone, IA, Dorthy Bracewell (Keith) Liberty, Mo and 2 brothers, Ronald Kincade (Patsy) Cameron, MO and Robert Kincade (Alida) Trenton, MO; 10 grandchildren: Jimmy (Lynn), Ryan, Katie, Caroline, Stacie and Andrew Kincade, Nathan (Carol) Kitson and Jon Kitson, Claire Phillips and Kristen (Kevin) Howdeshell; and 7 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Dilila Brinnen and an infant son, Stephen.

He was a loyal friend who cared deeply about the spiritual and material needs of humankind. Over the years, he served as a deacon at 3 Baptist Churches. He was ordained in 1962 at Calvary Baptist, Streator, Ill. Later served as deacon and deacon chairman at First Baptist Church, Peculiar, MO and was awarded the position of Deacon Emeritus at First Baptist Church, Greenwood, MO. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ and wanted others to know God's love.

He passed away at Season's Care Center, Kansas City on February 2, 2016, following a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. The family is grateful to the wonderful people at the Care Center, Crossroads Hospice and Groves Community Hospice. Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Fellowship at Greenwood 1601 W Main St. Greenwood, MO with visitation 1-2 PM.
