DONALD L. BURNAM
Donald L. Burnam, age 86, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on July 10, 2018.
Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 p.m., with Visitation from 10:00-12:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2018, at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Missouri. Burial will take place at the Belton Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
Donald was born June 28, 1932, in Harrisburg, Illinois. He was the son of Ebb Wylie Burnam and Mary (Whiteside) Burnam.
In 1954, Donald entered into the United States Air Force where he served his country for over 25 years.
On July 9, 1960, Donald was united in marriage with Sharon Anderson. Together, Donald and Sharon were blessed with three children, Jack, Maribeth, and Shawn.
During his time in the Air Force, Donald lovingly supported his family as a jet engine mechanic. After retiring from the Air Force, he went on to work for Butler Manufacturing in Grandview, Missouri. Donald later became a security guard for the Baptist Medical Center and also for the St. Joseph Medical Center until his retirement in 2012.
Donald was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church in Belton, Missouri. He was also a former member of the VFW Post #8220 in Belton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wylie and Mary Burnam, and his sister, Myra J. Miller.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon Burnam; children, Jack Burnam (wife, Robin), Maribeth Knoblauch (husband, Richard), and Shawn Michael Burnam (wife, Amanda); brother, David Burnam (wife, Connie); six grandchildren, Cory (wife, Amanda), Christopher, Amanda, Cody, Kaitlyn, and Bristol; five great-grandchildren, Lillian, Isabelle, Ryder, Pyper, and Paxton; two nephews, Eddie Burnam, and Jason Burnam (wife, Pam); two great-nephews, Tyler Burnam and Arron Burnam; niece, Suzy Miller (husband, Terry) and their daughter, Sarah.
