DEWAYNE ARTHUR ATTEBURY
Dewayne Arthur Attebury, age 75, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, in his son Jacob's home in Belton Missouri. September 15, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd., Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.
Dewayne was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 9, 1946 to James Attebury and Maxine (Friedli) Attebury. After high school, Dewayne completed two years of college before serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Dewayne earned his rank of an E-4 Specialist and was also an MP. His honorable service and experience molded the rest of his life. In life Dewayne was very particular in all things he did. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, working on cars, watching his grandkids at the zoo, sharpening his knives, and watching country western movies. He could always be found with a can of Cherry Long Cut Skoal.
Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maxine Attebury; four grandchildren, David and Angelina Sanders, and Jessica and Tiffany Attebury; daughter in law, Cindy Attebury; and son in law, John Wallace.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy Attebury; two sons, John Attebury (Jennie) and Jacob Attebury (Leslie); two daughters, Wendy Ann Sanders (Richard) and Diana Lynn Wallace; stepson, Duane Putnam; stepdaughter, Amber Carroll (Michael); three brothers, Ronald Lee Attebury (Katherine), James Allen, and Chuck Attebury (Debbie); two sisters, Cindy Miller (Kurt) and Starla Paul (Bob); thirty grandchildren; and twenty-three great grandchildren.
