DENNIS NELS SCHNELL

Dennis Nels Schnell, 86, of Raymore, MO entered into heaven on April 4th, 2016. The Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, April 7, at the Lord of Love Lutheran Church, 8306 E 171st St, Belton, MO 64012 with visitation from 12:30-1:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lord of Love Lutheran Church.

Dennis was born August 3, 1929, in Barrett , Minnesota, the son of Nels and Petrina (Minnie) Schnell. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife (Ione B. Schnell) of 63 years, and his parents. He is survived by his son, Dennis T. Schnell and wife Mari; daughter Melinda S. Cetto and husband Jeff; grandson Nathan Carl Schnell and wife Kasi; and granddaughter Audrey Lorraine Cetto.

Dennis was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa; he will be remembered for many things, but mostly for his wisdom and subtle humor, both demonstrated with a quiet gentleness.
Dennis was in the Air Force until he received a medical honorable discharge. He had a passion for automobiles (he and Ione owned 64 cars during his lifetime). He also loved old westerns. He was a fantastic handyman that could fix anything. He took pride in everything that he did, and perfection was always his goal.

Over the past 8.5 years, Dennis suffered in ways very few fully understand. His inner strength and perseverance were extraordinary. His family and friends are very thankful that he is free from pain and suffering, and is now resting in peace.
