Obituary
Deloris I. Schaffner, age 81, of Raymore, peacefully passed away surrounded by family January 11, 2017 at Foxwood Springs Living Center in Raymore, MO. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 a.m., with Visitation from 10-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 17 at Cullen Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Belton Cemetery, Belton, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to KC Hospice, KCHPC, 1500 Meadow Lake Parkway, Suite 200, Kansas City, MO 64114, or American Brain Tumor Association, 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Ste 550, Chicago, IL 60631.
Deloris was born February 9, 1935 in Booneville, MO. She was the daughter of Samuel Clay Davidson and Dorothy Jane Wilson. On June 24, 1950 Deloris was united in marriage with Donald R. Schaffner. Together they shared the blessing of six children, Donald Jr., Richard, David, Donna, Deborah, and Denise.
Deloris lovingly served her family throughout her life as a homemaker. She was an expert seamstress, making countless clothing items and beautiful quilts for her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, making porcelain dolls, ceramics , and custom draperies. She was also a member of the Belton Free Will Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald R. Schaffner; her son, Richard Wayne Schaffner, and her brother, John Davidson. She is survived by her children, Donald R. Schaffner, Jr., David J. Schaffner, Donna M. Cummings (Randy), Deborah A. Shepherd (Cole), Denise A. Schaffner; daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Peterson) Schaffner; siblings, William A. Davidson, Ronald E. Davidson, and Robert C. Davidson; 12 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren.
