DAVID M. SPICKLER
David M. Spickler, age 69, of Belton, Missouri, passed away at his home on June 17, 2018.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung Association ( www.lung.org ) or to the Missouri Forget-Me-Not Horse Rescue and Sanctuary ( www.missouriforgetmenot.org ).
David was born on September 13, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the son of Richard Spickler and Phyllis Yadon.
On March 5, 1985, David was united in marriage with Nancy Noll. Together, David and Nancy shared over 33 years of marriage.
David attended the KU Respiratory Care Program. He became a registered respiratory therapist and for forty years worked in numerous hospitals in the Kansas City area and retired from Research Belton Hospital in 2011 after working there for 20 years.
David had a deep love for his beautiful horses and canine companions. He had a passion for old cars, farm equipment, motorcycles, and watches, and he enjoyed many hours at his workbench. He dearly loved his wife, his sons, his sisters and their families, his extended family and a great many true and close friends.
He will be remembered by his family and friends as a caring, loving, and thoughtful man and will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Spickler; mother, Phyllis Yadon; stepfather, Raymond Yadon; brother, Michael Spickler; stepsister, Carol Yadon; and stepbrother, David Yadon.
David is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Spickler; stepsons, Kevin Kongs, and Jeff Kongs and wife, Diana Mategrano; sister, Patricia Bommarito and husband Mike Brown; sister, Kim Eighmy and husband, John Eighmy; and stepsister, Patricia Yadon and husband, Mark Van Ells.
