DAVID EUGENE SPENCER

David E. Spencer, age 80, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019.

A Visitation Service will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri. Immediately following, a Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m.

David was born on April 27, 1939 in Jasper, Arkansas. He was the son of Garland Eugene Spencer and Helen Ruth (Davis) Spencer. Growing up, David was one of two children, including his sister Kathy.

After graduating high school, David furthered his education which led to a fulfilled career at AT&T primarily as a Machinist Technician. In the summer of 1960, David was joined in marriage with his wife, Ruby J. Massengale on May 27 ^th . Together they were blessed with three daughters, Lori, Lisa and Kara. In life, David enjoyed fishing, grilling, watching westerns, and gardening. David loved his pets, taking very good care of them and faithfully attended services at the Church of the Resurrection. David knew his Bible from front to back.

David is preceded in death by his parents, Garland and Helen Spencer; sister Kathy Spencer; and great grandson, Sawyer Henshaw.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ruby J. Spencer; three daughters, Lori Newby, Kara Hopkins (Shawn), and Lisa Spencer (Terry); seven grandchildren, April Newby, Max Newby, Zac Spencer (Tamara), Devin Burggraf, Branden Burggraf, Kristopher Hopkins, and Collin Hopkins and five great grandchildren, Madilynn, Isaac, Hudson, Dani, and Addy.
