DAVID STAFFORD FORBES
David Stafford Forbes, age 67, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, September 14, 2020.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A memorial service will be held immediately following at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
David was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 9, 1953 to James Forbes and Marabel (Smith) Forbes. After graduating Shawnee Mission East High School in 1971, David continued his education receiving an associate degree in law enforcement. This paved the way for a successful career as a law enforcement officer. David was proud of the 20 years of service he provided to his community over the years, starting out with the Prairie Village Police Department and retiring as a sergeant with the Lenexa Police Department. Above law enforcement, David loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He also enjoyed watching the Jayhawks, Royals, Chiefs, NASCAR & traveling. He was especially a fan of Corvettes and Mustangs.
David is now reunited with his mother, Marabel Forbes. He leaves behind his loving daughters, Kelly Powell (Jason) and Krista Forbes (Jon); his loving fiancé Susan Lingle and her three daughters, Danielle Carlson (Ryan), Candice Byam (Randy), and Alicia Lingle; his father James B. Forbes; three brothers, James Forbes, Jr. (Debbie), Chris Forbes (Barb), and Andy Forbes; and ten grandchildren, Mason, Jacob, Katelin, Allyson, Phoenix, Faith, Brady, Ella, Reece, and Makenzie. Along with several nieces & nephews and countless other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, Missouri 64105
**Due to the continued concern regarding COVID-19 the family has requested that if you are not feeling well to please consider not attending these services and instead leave condolences online or reach out to the family when you are feeling better. Thank you for your efforts in helping others stay safe. In addition, all attendees to David's service will be required to wear a face mask while in the funeral home.
