DAVID ANDREW BARNHART

David Andrew Barnhart, 54, passed away on September 4, 2019 at his home in Raymore, MO. He was born on February 3, 1965, in Kansas City, MO to William and Bernice (Gavin) Barnhart.

Dave grew up in Raytown, MO. He graduated from Raytown High School in 1983. After high school Dave attended college at Central Missouri State University (UCM) and then worked in numerous industries before starting at General Motors (GM) as a temp in 1999; Dave spent the last 18 years at GM in skilled trades as an electrician. Dave was a proud member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 31 and served as the Financial Secretary from 2014 to 2017.

Dave married Rebecca (Becky) Snyder in 1995 in Liberty, MO. They celebrated 23 years of marriage in 2018.

Dave was passionate about playing and listening to music. He was an avid reader, enjoyed writing, and was a keen student of history. Dave's compassionate and charitable nature were manifested in his unyielding desire to help those around him. He loved animals, especially the many English Mastiff rescue dogs he and Becky fostered and adopted; he was quick to aid those in need, human and canine alike.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice Barnhart, and brother Scott Barnhart.  Dave is survived by his spouse, Becky Barnhart, of Raymore, MO; his siblings, Steve (Helen) Barnhart of Kansas City, MO, Susan Simmons of Kansas City, MO, Stacey (Sam) Ware of Blue Springs, MO, Neil (Kathy) Barnhart of Grain Valley, MO, Mark (Connie) Barnhart of Lee's Summit, MO, Kurt Barnhart of Kansas City, MO and Sister-in-law Susan (Scott) Barnhart of Delafield, WI; as well as his many nieces and nephews.
