DANNY FRED MARTENS
Danny Fred Martens, age 68, of Raymore, Missouri passed away at his home on July 16, 2017. Private family services will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Red Cross, or Wayside Waifs.
Dan was born August 30, 1948 in South Bend, Indiana. He was the son of William and Audree (Hasinfelt) Martens. On March 2, 1974, Dan was united in marriage to Marilyn "Sue" Allen, and together they were blessed with two children, William and Tami.
Dan proudly served his country in the Army, and lovingly supported his family as a programmer for the Kansas City Southern Railroad for thirty years. Dan was a classic car enthusiast who restored a 1970 Corvette convertible. He resided in Peculiar, Missouri for thirty years, where he enjoyed "puttering around" on his tractors and relaxing by the pond. He loved his family and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Audree Martens. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue Martens; his son, William Martens and wife, Anne; daughter, Tami Cook and husband, Michael; and grandson, Marten Michael Cook; along with his beloved grandpuppies, Molly, Macy, and Gretchen.
