CONSTANCE (CONNIE) LOU COWAN

With much sadness, the family of Constance (Connie) Lou Cowan, announces her passing on September 13, 2026, at the age of 84, in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Connie passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her loving family. Connie was born on July 1, 1942 to Chelsea and Mary Jane Walton, in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri as a young child. Connie had 2 sisters, Peggy and Mary Jo. She spent her childhood growing up in Kansas City, graduating from Southeast High School in 1960. Connie lived a long a full life, enjoying music, gardening, traveling, and her family. One of her favorite jobs was serving her community as a school bus driver. She loved the kids. She also loved being the official scorekeeper for Emily and Beth’s softball games.

Connie is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Ross Cowan, her children, Jenny Everson (Scott), Steve Clark (Iris), Beth Baldwin, and Emily Waldroup (Craig), and her cat, Pepper. Connie is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She was so proud of all of her grandchildren and her great grandchildren brought her much joy. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, her stepson, Toby, her grandson, Jacob, and her great grandson, Oliver. She is also lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.

A memorial service honoring Connie will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore, Missouri. Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation at 11:00 a.m., followed by the memorial service at noon.

All are welcome to join the family after service for a meal at Ross and Connie’s home, 432 SW 163rd Street, Lee’s Summit, MO.
