CONRAD "CONNIE" L. GATES

Conrad "Connie" L. Gates, 76, of Grandview, Missouri passed away July 10, 2012 at the Kansas City VA Medical Center surrounded by his family. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Sunday, July 15, 2012 at Cullen Funeral Home with Rosary at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Sabina Catholic Church with internment in Belton Cemetery. Connie was born December 15, 1935 in Brinktown, Missouri, the son of Donley and Farris Estelle Boyce Gates. Connie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Peggy Jean; son, Edward Gates and daughter, Susan Putman. He is survived by his sons, Mike T. Gates and wife Denise, Robert Scott Gates; daughter, Jean Ann Panek and husband Jim; sister, Dolores Miller; brothers, Myron Gates and Rector Gates and wife Kathy; seven grandchildren, Brandon and Holly Panek, Grant, Amy, Catherine, Christopher and Mary Gates; and his beloved cat, Kitty; and many nieces and nephews. Connie was an avid clock maker. He served our country in the Air Force and Retired after 20 years of service and also worked 16 years at St. Joseph Medical Center facility maintenances department. Connie specialized in repairing hospital beds and many other patient related services.
