C.O. BALENTINE
C.O. BALENTINE, age 89, of Raymore, MO, passed away, June 29, 2016, at Foxwood Springs, Raymore, Missouri. A Memorial service in his honor will take place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 1, 2016 at Cullen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to "You Made Me Mom" (amy@youmadememom.com).
Cleveland "C.O." Balentine was born on Sunday, August 15, 1926 in Ione, Arkansas.
He was the son of Allen and Dexter (Davis) Balentine. After graduating from high school, C.O. courageously served his country in the Navy and was stationed in the Pacific during WWII. He went on to attend Oklahoma A&M University and majored in Animal Husbandry and was a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
While attending college, C.O. met his love, Katy (Whitely), and they were married on November 4, 1948. Soon after their marriage, C.O. graduated from A&M in 1949. C.O. and Katy were blessed with three children and C.O. lovingly provided for his family while serving as Chairman of Bank 10, and later retired with over 52 years of dedicated service.
C.O. loved the LORD Jesus, and he loved the Church. By following in the footsteps of Christ, C.O. was both a tireless servant and a leader. He was a member of the South Haven Baptist Church. He enjoyed serving with "Campers on Mission", which is a fellowship of campers' who share their love for Christ as they camp, doing short term mission work.
C.O. Balentine was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Charlene Balentine-Walker and Linda Balentine-Madden, three great-grandsons, Brady DaMitz, Simon Balentine, and Thomas Balentine.
He is survived by his wife Katy, of over 67 years of marriage, his sons, Joe (Melody) and Barry (Lisa), one daughter, Olivia Mulvaney (David), one brother, Jerry Balentine (Margie), one sister, Snooky Pharoah (Bob), 15 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.
