Christopher James Hill
Christopher "Chris" James Hill, age 55, of Grandview, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025.
He was born on April 7,1970 in Kansas City, Missouri. Chris was his mom's (Kathy) pride and joy. He was full of laughter and mischief as a young boy. When his mom Kathy married Robert Rolen in 1975, Robert accepted him as his son with open arms. His sister Jennifer would soon arrive, and he enjoyed teasing her every chance he would get, along with the help of his close cousin Christine Cayton, she was his partner in crime for many years. Chris graduated from Grandview Senior High school before proudly serving in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 1995, including active duty during Operation Desert Shield, where he was a earned several achievement metals as a crypto linguist. His service to his country was a source of great pride to both him and his family. During this time he was able to travel to many counties and see the world.
Following his military service, Chris moved to Oklahoma City where we lived for a few years and earned his Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management. He followed that up with obtaining his MBA. He then became a certified math teacher for the Duncanville School District in Dallas, Tx. This is where he could showcase his brilliance. He had a love of all thing's math, science fiction, playing the piano, Gates BBQ, and would always enjoy a good sci-fi book. He learned at a young age to play piano, and you could always find him playing mom's piano when he was in town. He always had good stories about his travels and the friends he made along the way.
He is survived by his parents Kathy and Robert Rolen, sister Jennifer Payne (Nicholas Payne), nephew Nicholas Payne Jr., niece Oliva Payne, many aunts, uncles, and too many cousins to list. He leaves behind beloved friend Reggie Walton.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Herbert Wescoat, Betty Wescoat, Agnus Hill, great grandmother Olive Burham, great grandmother Toni Wescoat.
