CHIYOKO LYNN CASTLEMAN

Chiyoko Lynn Castleman, age 88, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Following visitation will be a graveside service at 1:15 p.m. at the Raymore Cemetery in Raymore, Missouri.

Chiyoko was born in Naha City, Okinawa, Japan on April 19, 1932 to Seiwa Nagayama and Kame (Harakuni) Nagayama. Growing up, Chiyoko was one of eight siblings. On February 16, 1959 she was joined in marriage with her husband Sheldon L. Castleman in the United States Consulate of Okinawa where he was stationed during his service with the United States Military. Together they were blessed with two sons, Joshua and Jon. In life, Chiyoko enjoyed dancing, gardening, shopping, and being active with her family, especially her grandchildren. She always cared about others first.

Chiyoko was preceded in death by her parents, Seiwa and Kame Nagayama; and four siblings.

She leaves behind her loving husband of over sixty-one years, Sheldon L. Castleman; two sons, Joshua S. Castleman and Jon C. Castleman (Janet); three sisters, Fumiko Makeshi, Hatsue McDonald, and Sumiko Yamazato; five grandchildren, Jenna Spiegel (Michael), Julie Kemna (Joe), Justin Castleman (Stacy), Mary Heydon (Ryan), and Hannah Castleman; and five great grandchildren, Oliver, Quinn, Mila, Rosie, and Cohen
