CHARLES C. WOLFENBARGER
Charles "Charlie" Wolfenbarger passed peacefully on June 28, 2024, at St. Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Charlie was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 1, 1945, to Marshall and Helen (Bowlin) Wolfenbarger. After graduating high school, Charlie continued his education and worked for many years handling payroll for Tobin Construction Company and then Florence Construction Company. Charlie also worked at Stuart Hall Company and the Harrisonville License Office. In the fall of 1965, Charlie was joined in marriage with his wife, Elizabeth. Their union was blessed with two children (Chris and Julie) in their 57 years together. In life, Charlie was a dedicated football coach, coaching the Lee's Summit Pop Warner Tigers for many years. Similar to his wife, Charlie showed his love and appreciation through food. As one of the owners of Smokin' Charlie's Custom Catering, Charlie brought his barbecue to many people, including his beloved trapshooting team and many members of the military. Charlie loved to give his friends and loved ones nicknames and was quick to tell a joke or just raise his eyebrows in a way only he could.
Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beth, his parents, Marshall and Helen; brothers, Marshall, Jr. and Donald; sister, Vickie Bankus; Sister-in-law, Patricia Wolfenbarger, brother-in-law Donald Eager and grandson, Anthony Floyd.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Wolfenbarger (Tracy Lacy); daughter, Julie Floyd (Daniel); eight grandchildren: Tyler Molendorp, Blake Molendorp, Dante Hall-Lyons, Janessa Floyd, Devon Floyd, Madison Wolfenbarger, Christian Sword and Morgan Sword; brother-in-law, John Bankus and sister-in-law, Shirley Wolfenbarger.
