CHARLES M. OAKLEY
Charles M. Oakley, 74, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away October 10, 2016 at Belton Regional Medical Center in Belton, Missouri. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, 2016 with visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Charles was born January 4, 1942 in Dimmitt, Texas. He was the son of Arthur B. and Melvina E. (Salmon) Oakley. On November 23, 1962 Charles was united in marriage to Judy Graham and together they were blessed with two children, Randy and Stacy. Charles received his Bachelor of Engineering degree and worked as an electrical engineer for AT&T and as an operations engineer for St. Joseph Medical Center.
Charles was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a 49 year member of the Boy Scouts of America, a volunteer at both the American Red Cross and Salvation Army, and he and his wife, Judy, served as emergency HAM Radio Operators. He was a State Certified Referee and Umpire for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Quinfred Oakley.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy E. Oakley; son, Randy Oakley (Lara); daughter, Stacy Henry (Ed); two sisters, Sarah Dees and Val Etter; 12 grandchildren, Sarah Milar (Ben), Matthew, Daniel and Hannah Oakley, Brigette Swensen (Michael), Wyatt Magoffin, Kristen Thomsen (Bradley), Amber Jackson (Jarom), Ashley, Kiara, Sean, and Devin Magoffin; and 6 great-grandchildren, Mason, Kai, Sophia, James, Ryker, and Walter.
