CHARLES A. CARTY
Charles Albert Carty, 94, of Overland Park, KS, formerly of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away October 15, 2014. Memorial service will be 11:30 AM Friday, October 24, 2014 at the First Christian Church in El Dorado Springs, 300 South Main, El Dorado Springs, MO 64744. Private family inurnment in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Christian Church in El Dorado Springs, MO. Charles was born September 1, 1920 in Lansing, North Carolina, the son of Chauncey E. and Mamie A. Sturgill Carty. Charles was a member of the U.S. Army serving in the South Pacific in WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Douglas, Byron and James Carty; sisters, Ernestine Grier and Margaret Andrews; grandson, Matthew Carty; and son-in-law, John Buterin. He is survived by his wife Maxine of 69 years; sons, Stephen C. Carty (Debra) and James A. Carty (Lindy); daughter, Melba Carty Buterin; 5 grandchildren, Liberty, Lennea, Jared, Brett and Christine; 4 great grandchildren, Felicity, Alexander, Noah and Hector.
