CHARLES A. BURTON

Charles "Charlie" A. Burton, 44, of Drexel, MO passed away March 24, 2015. There will be a visitation from 11-1 PM Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Cullen Funeral Home with Service following at 1 PM and interment in Freeman Cemetery. Charlie was born October 31, 1970 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of George L. and Nancy A. Broyles Burton. Charlie was a loving husband, father, friend, and an avid BBQ Master. Whether as a working class electrician and faithful member of IBEW Local 124, a former volunteer for the Belton Fire Department - Emergency Management Agency, a former Special Deputy for the Cass County Sheriff's Department, or serving as an elected Board Member of the Cass Midway Board of Education for nine years, he was passionately involved in the direction of his community and state in order to provide a bright future for his family. He presently served as Chairman of the Cass County Democratic Committee, Missouri Democratic Party 31st District Chairman and Missouri State Democratic Party Committeeman. Preceded in death by his father, George, he is survived by his wife Debbie J. Burton of 20 years; two daughters, Courtney Peregrine and husband Heath, and Leeanna Burton; mother, Nancy A. Burton; brother, Jason Burton; one grandson, Zane, as well as many other loving friends and family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made for Leeanna Burton's education fund.
