CHARLENE GEORGIA OLSEN (nee Vollmer)

Charlene Olsen, 72, of Raymore, MO, formerly of O'Fallon, IL, passed away suddenly on October 21, 2017, in Kansas City, MO. Memorial service will begin at 2:00 p.m., with visitation from 12:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 4, 2017, at Cullen Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.

Charlene was born on March 24, 1945, to Leonard and Gladys Vollmer (nee Rezba), in Belleville, Illinois. She graduated from O'Fallon Township High School and Coiffeur School of Beauty in Belleville, and owned her own salon, Le Petit Salon de Beauty.

In 1968, she married Frank B. Tucker of East St. Louis and moved to Kansas City, where they made their home. Their daughter, Heather, was born in 1969, and their son, Trey, in 1972.

In 1981, Charlene and Robert Olsen were married in Kansas City. Charlene worked in banking for 18 years but later changed careers. Her deep love of children led her to become a nanny, something she did with much love, care, and nurturing. Over the course of 25 years, she gave many children a good start in life, and many will remember her fondly. She also had a lifelong love of animals and was active in an animal rescue and adoption group, Animal Fair. In her spare time, she enjoyed going to garage sales and loved finding a bargain.

Charlene was preceded in death by her parents and brother, David. She is survived by her husband, children, brother, Robert, and sister and brother-in-law, Marla Morgan (Robert), and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
