CAROLYN ANNE LININGER

Carolyn Anne Lininger, affectionately known by her grandchildren as Nana and her great grandchildren as G-G-Ma, passed away on June 23rd, 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri at the age of 78.  Born in East Moline, Illinois on October 18th, 1945, Carolyn was a long-time resident of Grandview, Missouri, graduating from the Grandview High School in the class of 1963.

After graduation, Carolyn began her working career with the Dodson Insurance Group, working there until 1966 when she stopped working to start a family.  After raising her two sons as a stay-at-home mother, Carolyn returned to a career in retail, working at JC Penney where she worked from 1978 to 1999.  She concluded her working career with the Grandview Consolidated School District where she retired in 2007.

Known for her kindness and selflessness, Carolyn dedicated much of her time to caring for others, a true testament to her generous and giving spirit.  In retirement, she found joy in her hobbies which included reading, gardening and tending to her bird feeders.  Carolyn never met an animal she didn't like, spending much of her time in retirement providing a nurturing home for her furry, four legged friends.

Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Robert Lininger; her children, Scott Lininger and wife Teresa, Paul Lininger and wife Tammy; her grandchildren, Daniel Lininger and wife Rebecca, Trevor Lininger and wife Sydney, Kyle Lininger and wife Claire, and Alyssa Nichols and husband Brandon.  She also leaves behind four great-grandchildren, Janean, Leanna, Carter and Carson.  Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Collins and Virginia Landess.

A visitation for Carolyn's friends and family will be held on June 26th from 6pm to 8pm at the Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore, Missouri.  A private burial will be held on June 27th at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Knob Noster, Missouri where she will join her parents who preceded her in their journey home.
