Long-time Edmond, Oklahoma resident Carol Boegler Moles died at her home in Raymore, Missouri on June 1, 2010. She was born in Menno, South Dakota on February 27, 1920.
Carol graduated from the University of South Dakota and was a member of Kappa Phi, serving as national president. She taught in South Dakota, Massachusetts, Oklahoma and Alabama. In Boston she taught at the Perkins Institute for the Deaf and Blind. She took a leading role in the Oklahoma Literacy Council of OKC where she tutored students, trained tutors and was involved in administration. She was a Brownie, Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader; she enjoyed playing bridge and golf, and was passionate about reading.
Carol is survived by her husband Oliver; children Merry Jo Zimmer (Douglas) of Aberdeen, Washington, Ina Gunther (Larry) of Raymore, Ann Brandt (Detlev) of Berlin and Charles Moles of Edmond; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held June 18th at 9:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 1001 S. Rankin St. in Edmond Oklahoma. Donations may be made to the church or the American Cancer Society.
