Obituary

CAROL W. DIAS

Carol Williamson Dias, after 84 years of a long and full life, died on October 31st 2011. October 31st was a fitting day to pass on, for someone who so thoroughly loved candy. Carol was a lively, stubborn firecracker sort of a woman who loved to take care of people, though she would deny it if you asked her. A co-founder of many things, such as the Raymore-Peculiar High School Band Boosters, Cass County Area Workshop, and a Lion's Club college scholarship fund for a Ray-Pec High School student, Carol was always eager to help people, and fill a need where it needed to be filled. After 25 years of teaching Special Education in Missouri schools, Carol continued to live her life to the fullest, even after her husband and son died shortly after retirement. An avid book reader, lover of Jeopardy, world traveler, and purveyor of all information useless and useful, Carol loved to talk to people, never met a stranger, and loved and enjoyed her family. Carol is survived by her daughter Paula, son-in-law Dennis, granddaughter Lisa, grandson David and his wife Kayla, and one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Visitation 2-4 PM Saturday, November 5th at Cullen Funeral Home. No flowers needed, as Carol would prefer you give the money to the NOVA Center Inc., 8401 Hickman Mills Dr., Kansas City, MO 64132.
