CARMITIA L. YUST

Carmitia L. Buell Yust, age 85, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family members on Thursday, May 20, 2021.

Rosary will be said at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Ave., Belton, Missouri 64012. Visitation will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Carmitia will then be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.

Carmitia L. (Buell) Yust was born September 26, 1935 to Keith and Ursula (Shriver) Buell in Peabody, Kansas. She was the third child of five children to the couple.

On July 14, 1956, she married her devoted husband Raymond Yust in Augusta, Missouri. The couple moved to Kansas City, Missouri where they started their family and continued to build a life full of love and laughter.

Carmitia loved tending to her vegetable and flower garden, which always looked beautiful. Her biggest pride and joy was her grandchildren whom she spent most of her time with. She was in attendance to almost every sporting event her grandchildren had, cheering them on from the stands or sidelines. She loved watching all sports on television, especially the Chiefs, Royals, and KU Jayhawks.

Carmitia was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Ursula Buell.

Carmitia is survived by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Ray Yust. Other survivors include: her children, Raymond Friedland-Yust (Deborah), of Montreal, Canada and Cyndi Ostrander (Hugh) of Kansas City, Missouri. Her grandchildren, Joe Ostrander, Stephanie Ostrander, Megan Ostrander, Leo Friedland-Yust, and Kayla Friedland-Yust, as well as many other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be given to St. Sabina Catholic Church as addressed above.
