Carl was born in Washington, D.C. on July 2, 1939 to Carl Wendell Cockrum, Sr. and Pauline (Trimble) Studabaker. After graduating high school, Carl continued his education at Rolla with a focus on engineering. Carl was joined in marriage with his wife Linda on February 14, 1969. He was blessed with three children; Carla, Wendi, and Christopher. In life, Carl was a man of strong faith, attending Grace Baptist Church in Lee's Summit, Missouri where he was always happy to help out. Carl loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed tinkering with different projects around the house and yard. In his younger years, he was involved with Youth For Christ where he and Linda were club hosts for 10 years. He retired from Western Electric (AT&T) working as a mechanical engineer. Carl was the definition of patience, kindness, love, and faithfulness. He loved his family dearly and will be missed beyond words. We are so thankful for the Good Hope of Heaven.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Pauline Cockrum; and son, Christopher Cockrum.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Cockrum; two daughters, Carla Cockrum and Wendi Bottiger (Chris); brother, Art Cockrum (Carol); sister, Terry Foltz; six grandchildren, Eric Duarte (Ashley), John Duarte (Ashely), and Joshua Duarte (Abby), Hannah Bottiger Moore (Nick), Caleb Bottiger, Emmy Bottiger; six great grandchildren, Henry, Palmer, Lainey, Trip, Joshua, Avie; and one great grandchild expected in February 2024.
