BETTY JO HELEN CARNEY

Betty Jo Helen Carney, age 93, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2022.

Funeral Services will be held at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083 on Wednesday, November 2, 2022. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Raymore Cemetery in Raymore, Missouri.

Betty was born in Duncan, Oklahoma on July 14, 1929, to Harry Red and Mary Margaret (Davis). Betty was joined in marriage with her late husband Estle Carney on June 12th, 1970, in Tahlequah, OK. In life Betty was blessed with three children, Kay, Mark, and Kelley. For over fifteen years, she utilized her artistic abilities as a ceramicist and painter traveling the US and Canada as an instructor for Duncan paints. She was also a published author of her work in ceramics. When Estle was no longer able to travel, they settled in Raytown, MO where she ran a home healthcare business for the elderly for almost 30 years. She also loved gardening, working in her yard, hosting family and cooking, especially over the holidays.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Red and Mary Schacht; husband, Estle Carney; sister, Geraldine Schacht; and brother, James Ray Schacht.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children, Johnnie Kay Heun (Paul), Mark Dywain Dye (Wilma), and Kelley Ray Dye Jr.; seven grandchildren, Renae Smith (Mark), Andrea Paul (Rob), Gayla Roberts (Duncan), Jennifer Buckley (John), Sherryl Eisma (Joe), Christopher Dye, and Jason Dye (Rhonda); 23 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
