BERNIECE ELAINE HOPPEN

Berniece E. Hoppen, age 86, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

A visitation service will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A burial will be held at Belton Cemetery in Belton, Missouri following the funeral service.

Berniece was born on June 21, 1933 in Stover, Missouri. She was the daughter of August O. Steinmeyer and Laura C. (Alpers) Steinmeyer. After graduating high school, Berniece joined the work force and shortly after was joined in marriage with Kenneth E. Hoppen on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1953. Together they were blessed with two children, Debbie and Brian. Throughout the majority of Berniece's life she worked for the House of Lloyd and in her later years as a supervisor. During her spare time, Berniece did enjoy embroidery.

Berniece was preceded in death by her loving husband of over 54 years, Kenneth E. Hoppen; parents, August and Laura Steinmeyer; son Brian Hoppen; sister Norma Steinmeyer; and brother Marlin Steinmeyer.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Debbie Randolph (J.D.); two brothers, Vernon Steinmeyer (Betty) and Kenneth Steinmeyer (Betty); two sisters, Kathleen Phelps and Joyce Acton (Ed); two grandchildren, Jenna Claus and Lance Randolph (Sarah); and two great grandchildren.
