Born on October 20, 1945 in Kansas City, MO, she was a devoted wife of more than 60 years to Roger Cartmill, cherished mother to Denise Rittinghouse (Jerry) and Stacy Keith (Doug), and adoring grandmother to Jessica Baur (Brad), Jacob Keith (Angela), Justin Rittinghouse (Paige), and Jack Rittinghouse (Rachel) and great-grandmother to Ryder and Wesley; Maxwell and Karaline; Brecken and Rowan; Kaylee and Kody. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew her.
Becky was known for her faith in Jesus as her Savior, her unshakable belief in the power of prayer, her sense of humor, her love for her family and friends, and her wise Godly advice. Her favorite verse was James 6:15, "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much". Becky was a prayer warrior who prayed daily and specifically for those she loved. She was a faithful member of Abundant Life Baptist in Lee's Summit, MO. and First Baptist Church of Palmetto in Palmetto, Florida.
She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending the winter in Florida with Roger and all of her "Florida Friends" and the summer in Kansas City with the "Adventure Club Friends". She was a devoted sister to her brothers Tom Ruark and Mike Ruark as well as her sister Joyce Ruark. She will forever be remembered by her friends as someone who listened with compassion and shared her wise Biblical advice generously. Becky will forever remain in our hearts.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kansas City Hospice. The care she and her family received from the remarkable people at KC Hospice made such a difference during the difficult journey. https://www.kchospice.org/support/
