BARBARA A. JOHNSON

Barbara A. Johnson, age 79, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away on November 1, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Sabina Catholic Church, 700 Trevis Ave. Belton, Missouri 64012.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation (http://alzfdn.org) Heart of America Chapter, 3846 W. 75 ^th Street, Prairie Village, Kansas 66208.

Barbara was born on January 17, 1939 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was the daughter of John Torres and Emma Bringus. Growing up Barbara was one of five children.

Barbara  worked as an EKG Technician  at the St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City for three years. A humble woman, she was a faithful member of St. Sabina Catholic Church and enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, garage sales, and shopping at thrift stores. Being a wife and mother was a great joy in her life.

She was joined in marriage with her late husband Joseph R. Johnson Sr. on February 23rd, 1956. Together they were blessed with son Joseph and four daughters Vicki, Cathy, Lori, and Brandi.

Barbara is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years , Joseph Johnson Sr.; daughter Vicki Rowe; grandson Trevor Johnson; and parents John and Emma Torres.

She is survived by her son Joseph R. Johnson (Jamie Gonzales); three daughters Cathy Johnson-Pruitt(Jon Pruitt), Lori Sabaugh, and Brandi Johnson; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brother Mark Torres; and three sisters Sandy Gilliland (Gary), Patricia Long (Jim), and Nancy Lafallotte (David).
