BARBARA ANN BRUNO

Barbara Ann (Beullens) Bruno, age 89, of Peculiar, Missouri passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2025, at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc., 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083 followed by the entombment at Floral Hills East Cemetery in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Barbara was born in Kansas City, Missouri on October 2, 1936, the daughter of James Ray Beullens and Audrey Coulter. Barbara was married to Domenic "J.R." Bruno, Jr. on December 30, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri. Together, they were blessed with three boys, Dennis, James and Donald. In life, Barbara worked as a skilled machine operator for Western Electric for 25 years and then she spent 22 years at Walmart as a door greeter and a cashier.

Barbara enjoyed spending quality time with her family and baking in the kitchen, including her famous homemade cookies and delicious chocolate and peanut butter fudge. She had a compassionate heart and embraced life with an infectious spirit. Barbara's passion for life also included feeding birds, especially hummingbirds and pampering her own dogs and neighborhood dogs with treats. She was a strong woman, and her competitiveness would not be out done as she would get on a skateboard, ride a motorcycle, ride a four-wheeler, and have debates with anyone. She was full of spunk and a zest for life.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, James Ray and Audrey Beullens; her husband, Domenic "J.R." Bruno, Jr.; her stepmother, Bonnie Beullens; and an infant son, Kenneth Bruno.

She is survived by her three sons, Dennis Bruno (Angela), James Bruno (Pamela), and Donald Bruno (Tamila); sister, Frances DiGeronimo; brother-in-law, Dale Bruno (Judy); three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
