ARTHUR "JUNIOR" E. THOMPSON

Arthur "Junior" E. Thompson, age 75 of Grandview, Missouri passed away on September 3, 2017 at Belton Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, September 8th, at Cullen Funeral Home, Raymore, Missouri. Graveside Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Rockville Cemetery, Louisburg Kansas. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or to the Diabetes Association.

Junior was born July 9, 1942 in Drexel, Missouri. He was the son of Arthur E. Thompson, Sr. and Lytle A. (Shannon) Thompson. Junior proudly served his country in the Navy, and was stationed aboard the USS Ranger.

On June 14, 1968 Junior was united in marriage to Joyce S. Thompson, and together they were blessed with three children, Donna, Debbie, and Derrick. Junior lovingly supported his family as a machine shop technician for Newco Manufacturing Co. in Kansas City until his retirement.

Junior was a lifetime member of the VFW #8220 in Belton, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Lytle Thompson; sisters, Wilma Marra and Evelyn Hughes, and brother, Wayne Lehr. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joyce S. Thompson; his children, Donna Thompson, Debbie Thompson-Miller, and Derrick Thompson; three grandchildren, Cody Miller, Bailey Mahany, and Kaelyn Lehr Thompson, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
