ARNOLD W. JENNINGS
Arnold W. Jennings, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Foxwood Springs Care Center. He was born June 18, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri. After graduation from Southeast High School, he served as a signalman in the US Navy through the end of World War II.
Upon returning home, Arnold became a student at the University of Kansas, graduating in 1950 with a BS in Business. He met his beloved wife of 63 years, Rosemary, and they married in August, 1948.
Arnold worked at Butler Manufacturing Co. for 32 years until his retirement, but his life was a life of service. Family was always Arnold's first priority. He was a lifetime role model for his son and daughter.
He was an Eagle Scout, a member of the tribe of Mic-o-Say and went on to serve as Scoutmaster for Troop 285 at the Raytown Christian Church. He also was a member of the Raytown Masonic Lodge.
Those who knew Arnold knew him as a man of great faith. His life exemplified his faith both in word and action. He and Rosemary were members of Raytown Christian Church for over 50 years. When they moved to Foxwood Springs in Raymore, Missouri, they joined the Raymore Christian Church and have been members for more than 10 years. Arnold served as Deacon and Elder at both churches, as well as holding leadership positions on various committees and positions of service to his church and the communities they served.
Arnold Jennings is celebrated and survived by his wife Rosemary, son Stephen Jennings and wife Gail; daughter Sharon Holt and husband Lirel; grandsons Kyle Holt and wife Kim, Brandon Jennings and wife Amanda, Bryce Holt and wife Amanda, and Chris Jennings and wife Megan; and five wonderful great-grandchildren, ages 11 months to 6 years.
Visitation will be 1-2 PM Friday, January 13, 2012 at Raymore Christian Church with funeral services to follow at 2:00 PM. Burial at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at Gregory Blvd. and Blue Ridge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Arnold to Raymore Christian Church, or to the Fellowship of John at Foxwood Springs, Raymore, Missouri.
