Anna Jean Douglas, age 76, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in Lee's Summit, Missouri.

Jean was born in Meridian, Mississippi on December 12, 1943. At an early age she, along with her brother William Jesse Dodd and beloved sister, Mary Elizabeth Dodd-Cochran, were adopted by Alfonso and Dorothy Dodd. A few years after schooling, Jean was joined in marriage with her loving husband Jerry Douglas. Together they spent many happy years with one another. She worked at Bain's Supermarket in Raymore before working and retiring after twenty-five years from Sanofi Aventis as a Quality Control Technician. Jean loved to take trips; her favorite destination was Gulf Shores Alabama. She enjoyed being outdoors crappie and cat fishing at Truman Lake, taking care of her flowers, sitting on her front porch watching her hummingbirds, making crafts, and attending car shows. He favorite thing to do of all time was spend time with her dear family and friends. She would always make sure that everyone had a full belly with her amazing southern cooking and sweet tea.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Alfonso and Dorothy Dodd, and brother William Jesse Dodd.
She leaves behind her husband of over fifty-four years, Jerry Douglas; daughter, Shaunda Barr (Nathan); son, Darrell Douglas (Stacy); four sisters, Mary Elizabeth Dodd-Cochran, Brenda Dodd-Farmer, Darlene Dodd-Paul, and Sylvia Dodd-Strickland; brother, Danny Dodd; two grandchildren, Spencer Barr and Kourtni Douglas; great granddaughter, Khloe Watkins; great grandson, Wylan Watkins; many nieces and nephews; and double cousins and their extended families.
