ANN HELENE HEFNER
Ann Helene Hefner, 78, of Edwardsville, Illinois, formerly of Raymore, Missouri passed away at 6:20 AM on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Eden Village Care Center Rehab.
Ann was born on February 17, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Secord) Stolz. Her family moved to Kansas City, Missouri when Ann was eighteen years old. There she met her future husband, Major Henry F. Hefner USAF, whom she married on October 15, 1960.
He preceded her in death on December 24, 1998. Together they raised 3 daughters, Sheryl Ross of Maryville IL, Helene Chapman of Godfrey IL, and Karen (Scott) Atteberry of Raymore MO. Ann enjoyed golfing, reading, playing board games, and traveling. She was a great cook and mother who loved spending time with her family.
In the later years of her life, Ann made the decision to relocate to the Southern Illinois area to be near her two older daughters. She resided at Stillwater Senior Living in Edwardsville IL where she enjoyed the wonderful people and caring staff members.
In addition to her daughters, Ann is survived by her grandchildren, Kyle, Katelyn, and Nicholas Chapman of Godfrey and Dylan Atteberry of Raymore; her sisters, Rita Kimble of Long Beach CA, and Ruth (Paul) Martineau of Bellflower CA; sister-in-law, Sally Stolz of Henderson NV; uncle, Dr. Paul (Ida) Secord of Tampa FL; niece, Ruthanne Kimble of Portland OR; and nephews, Michael Stolz of Henderson NV, and Mark Stolz of Stewartsville NJ.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by her brother, David Stolz, brother-in-law, Earl Kimble, and her husband's siblings Mary (Paul) Gardner, Jane (Jim) LaPiana, H. Richard (Doris) Hefner, and Nancy Moore.
Ann was a member of the St. Anthony's Guild and Calvary Lutheran Church and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in the Kansas City area.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM December 14, 2016 and from 10 AM to time of service at 11 AM December 15, 2016 at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore MO. Interment will follow at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis MO. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
