ALICE JANE MURPHY

Alice Jane Murphy, age 81, of Belton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2018, in Mayetta, KS. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Friday, January, 26, 2018, at Cullen Funeral Home in Raymore, Missouri.

Alice was born on October 24, 1936, in Boston, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of Laurence Montgomery and Catheryn A. Miller Montgomery.

On June 7, 1968, Alice was united in marriage with Lawrence O. Murphy. Together, Alice and Lawrence enjoyed over 49 years of marriage.

For over 32 years, Alice worked for the USDA as a Contract Officer until her retirement. Alice enjoyed her retirement spending time with her family and reading many books, one of her favorite pastimes.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Catheryn Murphy; and her son, Martin P. Murphy.
Alice is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence O. Murphy; her two sons, Michael L. Murphy (Ellen), and Patrick L. Murphy (Wendy); her sister, Beverly Butler; and six grandchildren, Sean, Sara, John, Brad, Megan, and Chloe.
