ALICE BLANCHE BESETH

Alice Blanche (Moffett) Beseth, age 93, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 3, 2021 in her home surrounded by her loving sons.

A visitation and viewing for friends and family will be held at Cullen Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Friday April 9th with a graveside service being held at 2:00 p.m. at Raymore Cemetery in Raymore, Missouri.

Alice Blanche Moffett was born in Liberty, New York on October 27, 1927 to Harold Maffett and Leah (Morris) Maffett. Alice retired from U.S. West Communications where she worked as a telephone operator.
In the Fall of 1950, she was joined in marriage with her late husband, Robert George Beseth on September 24th. Together they were blessed with three sons. The family started life in Liberty, New York and in 1964 moved to the Navajo Indian reservation where Bob taught housing construction. In 1972 Bob and Alice retired to Mesa Arizona. In 1999 Bob and Alice moved to Morningview subdivision in Raymore where Alice had many wonderful friends and neighbors. As a woman of faith, Alice was a member of the Lord of Love Lutheran Church in Belton, Missouri. In life she was very intrigued by politics, history, genealogy and enjoyed collecting ephemera. She was an elegant dresser. She loved learning and experiencing new things like operating a backhoe or toy drone and always enjoyed a thrill. Not much more than a month ago she could be witnessed exceeding the speed limit on 58 highway through Raymore in her 91 Cadillac. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as talking by phone to her nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband of over fourty-nine years, Robert Beseth; son Robert Beseth (Amy); parents, Harold and Leah Maffett; sister Dorothy Houghtaling; and sister Leah Studt.

She leaves behind her two sons, Jeff Beseth (Floresa) and Greg Beseth (Brenda); daughter-in-law Amy Beseth, sister, Ellen Lucas; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 2 nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Lord of Love Lutheran Church in Belton.
