ALFRED EUGENE (GENE) MILLER

Alfred Eugene (Gene) Miller, 88, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 4th, 2013. He was born near Atherton, MO and lived most of his life in Independence, MO and Raymore, MO with his wife. Funeral services will be 11AM Monday, July 8, 2013 at Heartland Baptist Church Belton, MO with Visitation 10-11AM. Burial will be in Raymore Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Christian School. He was the owner and operator of J & M Oil Company in Independence MO. He served his country during World War II as an Army staff sergeant in the Medic Corp from 1942 to 1946. He and Eva retired to Myrtle Beach, SC where their favorite pastime was golf. For the last 21 years he has been a faithful member of Heartland First Baptist Church, Belton MO. He is survived by his daughter, Jonnie S. Thompson (Rick) Belton, MO; his brother, R.J. Miller (Ruth) Hutchinson KS; five grandchildren, Michelle Jisa (Daniel) Excelsior Springs, MO, Brad Thompson (Katie) St. Paul, MN, Jenni McRoy, Gardner, KS, Lisa Stewart (Chuck) Belton, MO, Ami LaPointe (Kirk) Holden, MO; seven great-granddaughters; five great grandsons and one great-great granddaughter.
